Sultan of Brunei attends Halal Expo

The Sultan of Brunei and officiated the fifth edition of the International Halal Products Expo as part of his continued efforts to make Brunei an established regional halal hub. Also in attendence with the Sultan were Prince Haji Al-Muhtadee Billah, Prince Abdul Malik, Prince Mohamed Bolkiah and Prince Haji Sufri Bolkiah, all of who hold important offices in the Brunei Government.

The exposition featured more than 200 local and international booths, which were open to all attendees. Products ranged from foods to medicines and Islamic finance, with new attractions including a central pavilion for Thailand, which exhibited a large range of products, including jewellery and food.

The Expo aims to bring the public and private sectors together, with an estimated attendance this year of just over 50,000 people, up from the 39,000 of last years expo. The expo also invited renowned chef Bobby Chinn to provide cooking demonstrations for those in attendence.

The IHPE will run until June 6th.
