Brunei are spearheading the move to put a nationally recognised standard of practice for halal foods and pharmaceuticals in place, as they continue to make efforts to set the country up as a recognised halal hub.
Brunei's Minister of Industry and Primary Resources, Bakar, backed this up by stating that the publication of the guidelines marked another milestone in Brunei's halal intiative, with the intention being that it will pave the way for halal pharmaceutical companies to be set up in the region. The move is the largest development to come out of the
International Halal Products Expo (IHPE).
The standard is intended to create trust in one of the fastest growing Muslim markets in the world and will be extended to include other halal products, such as halal foods, in the coming months.
Humza Foods sells only certified and legitimate halal frozen foods.
