The Raja Muda of Perlis has expressed his hopes for the halal hub project currently ongoing in Northern Perlis to be fully realised sooner rather than later, stating that "The federal government should consider the state government application for additional RM70 million to develop the 40 hectare site". He further believes the project must be finished to aid a strategy for local products to penetrate the international market.
The project has been previously delayed due to land reclamation problems, however work on the first phase of the project had already been started and is due for completion in November. The Raja Muda has high hopes that the private sector will get involved in the project. especially
QSR Brand Bhd, which holds the franchise rights to both
Pizza Hut and
KFC, after they presented the project with RM78,467.
Humza Frozen Foods is a major supporter of any intiative to expand the understanding of halal foods.
