Church of England Tells Schools to Ensure They Serve Non-Halal Foods

The Church of England has informed its various schools across the country that it must ensure that it sells non-halal meat to their students after concerns emerged that a number of the schools are only serving meat slaughtered under Islamic law.

The official guidance was sent out by the church after a number of members of the CofE expressed concern that halal meat in Christian schools was essentially spreading sharia law across Britain.

The scaremongering has led to pressure being put on the Church to no longer purchase from supermarkets that don't label halal foods.

Alison Ruoff, a long-standing member of the Church’s ‘parliament’, the General Synod, said "The Church is only just waking up to this. We have been pathetic and mealy-mouthed but we should be really concerned about this. There is a lot of fear about upsetting Muslims but as a Christian you have to stand up for Christian values. Because we are unwittingly eating halal meat, we are spreading the practice of sharia law."
