Japanese Company Offering Halal Beef to Japanese Based Muslims

A Japanese meat company has begun processing halal certified beef as the country begins to experience more and more Muslims arriving on their shores.

Japanese meat producers, who are famed for their Kobe beef, have started to turn their attentions towards the increasing market for halal foods and are now looking at ways in which they can service the ever-growing market and take advantage of it.

One such company, Zenkai Meat Corp, have announced that they will be launching a domestic halal products range at the country's FoodEx trade show at the beginning of the month.

Zenkai's new foray into the Muslim market is in collaboration with partners in Indonesia and Malaysia - both predominantly Muslim countries.

It's been estimated that there are 115,000 to 125,000 Muslims living in Japan, most of whom are foreign born.
